Anyone noticed the change in our societal behaviour recently? All of the mad ones who should be locked up, are celebrating because the sane ones have stopped looking at the mad ones who should be locked up with the expression that says, you’re a mad one who should be locked up, because, they’re no longer sure if they are mad ones who should be locked up. They can’t tell the difference anymore! All hail the hands free phone kit!
According to the BBC we’re all incapable of converting, or finding out how to convert, pounds to kilos, sterling to dollars & euros, pints to litres or yards to metres. In every BBC Ceefax story we get the full conversion, even on the radio! “A man who stole £5m ($8.3m. €6m.) is going to be tied to a rack and stretched 3ft (0.9m) because he is 200lbs (90.7kg) overweight as a result of drinking 20 pts (11.365 lts) a day for 20 years (?) and so cannot fit into his prison clothes.” The above conversions are provided by countless online sources. See, if we want it, we know where to find it. We’re not all stupid.
I keep missing good movies because going to the cinema cheeses me off. There are too many skanky toe-rags who are more interested in stuffing their faces and talking throughout the movie than they are in watching it. Please someone open a cinema for serious filmgoers, not necessarily for art-house movies but for people who want to see and hear the entire movie, whatever the genre. Either that or have evenings set aside at existing venues for such people. No, that wouldn’t work either because you only find out you are amongst knobheads after the movie starts. I’ll just stick to DVD’s and a bottle of something red.
It seems to me the cause of most, if not all, of the UK’s financial woes, and possibly those of many other countries, lies solely within one area, that of property. Owners of bricks and mortar think their place is worth far more than it really is. Aggravating this, are the fools like you and me who are prepared to purchase at ridiculous prices, leading to a situation were rents are falsely high and in order to cope, people need to earn more than their jobs are worth, which in turn leads to overcharging, crime and strikes. If everyone took a step back and accepted that their precious bricks are not worth what they think, perhaps we could all enjoy a better standard of living.

Isn’t Baroness Scotland lovely? Breaking the employment law is just like getting done for not paying the Congestion charge is it? In the same way that getting stabbed by someone is just like getting poked in the arm with a flu jab!
Update: And the servant is going to be prosecuted for breaking employment law, but not her privileged employer. Ha! One rule for them….
